Ray Whitis has been employed with the Tarrant County Sheriff's Office since May 2022. He began his career in confinement at the Greenbay facility. He tried out and made the original SRT in 2003 and was transferred to TCCC. In August 2005, he was promoted to the rank of corporal and then to the rank of sergeant in 2006. In 2008, he took a voluntary demotion to participate in TCSO's cadet program. He served in our patrol division from 2009 through 2017. At that time, he became a member of our SWAT team and transferred to the Criminal Warrant Division. In 2021, he regained the rank of sergeant, this time in operations. He is currently a sergeant in the patrol division and a Team Leader on SWAT.

Sergeant LaMunion has 13 years of experience with the Tarrant County Sheriff’s Office (TCSO) and is assigned to the North Patrol Division. Prior to TCSO he served 4 years with the Dallas Police Department in the Central Patrol Division. Sergeant LaMunion holds a TCOLE Master Peace Officer license. He also has served as a Fatality Crash Investigator, Field Training Officer, Advanced Instructor, and Radar-Lidar Instructor. Sergeant LaMunion also manages TCSO’s contract patrol services for the City of Haslet. He has a Syracuse University BS degree in media relations management. Prior to his law enforcement career, Sergeant LaMunion served in executive corporate media communications positions.
