LOCAL, PERSONALIZED REPRESENTATION WHICH GETS RESULTS.

The Tarrant County Law Enforcement Association (TCLEA) is a non-profit organization dedicated to serving and protecting Tarrant County sworn, and civilian law enforcement personnel employed by the Tarrant County Sheriff's Office, Constable Offices, District Attorney's Office, Fire Marshal's Office and Medical Examiner's Office. TCLEA is a member of the Combined Law Enforcement Association of Texas (CLEAT), which has more than 27,000 members across Texas. TCLEA executive board members regularly meet with members across the various divisions of the Sheriff's Office as well as with members employed by the other Tarrant County Law Enforcement organizations listed here. TCLEA executive board members host a monthly membership meeting where they cover a wide range of current issues impacting law enforcement employees in the offices of the Sheriff, Constables, District Attorney, Fire Marshal and the Medical Examiner. The TCLEA executive board members also have solid relationships with the command staffs and leadership teams at each of the Tarrant County Law Enforcement organization listed here. TCLEA executive board members also meet regularly with theTarrant County Commissioners and their staffs, especially during annual budget and planning periods. One of the TCLEA executive board members, Detective R. Garcia with the Tarrant County Sheriff's Office, serves in the CLEAT executive board. This provides a solid communications link between TCLEA and CLEAT which is valuable during any major incidents involving our members who need CLEAT representation.

WHO IS ELIGIBLE TO JOIN TCLEA?

Most members of TCLEA are employed by Tarrant County in the Tarrant County Sheriff's Office, Constable Offices, District Attorney's Office, Fire Marshal's Office and Medical Examiner's Office. TCLEA members also include law enforcement personnel from Tarrant County-affiliated law enforcement agencies like JPS Hospital Police and Tarrant County College Police. In addition, personnel from law enforcement agencies throughout Tarrant County are eligible to join TCLEA. Membership is open to sworn peace officers, detention officers, adult/juvenile probation officers, dispatchers, civilian crime scene investigators and other civilian employees. In addition, Federal law enforcement officers stationed in Texas, and retired peace officers residing in Texas are eligible for membership.
